INDUSTRY:

Tourism and offhsore financial services are the islands' main economic activities. The offshore financial sector has been a spectacular success and one third of the workforce is employed in the tourism industry.

The agricultural sector is limited by poor soil, and relies mainly on livestock rearing, however some fruits and vegetables are produced for export.

The principal industrial activities include rum distilling, stone crushing and paint production. There is also a small mining industry, producing salt and materials for the construction industry.
