INDUSTRY:

Antigua’s econonmy is predominantly based on tourism and related offshore banking services.

The manufacturing industry is also important and products manufactured for export include bedding, handicrafts and electronic components.

Agricultural production including livestock, sea island cotton, mixed market gardening and fishing are a small part of the island’s economy. The fishing industry has doubled since the 1980’s, however there is a limited freshwater resource and water management is a major concern.
